What really matters – 1

What really matters

Very early on in ministry I realised that I needed to establish critical foundations for myself personally and my ministry. It sensed it important that I developed an overriding vision to align with what really matters in my life.

“To be a man after God’s own heart and bring others to the flame”

In my next couple of blogs I will outline what really matters in my life

  1. The Secret Place

I am passionate about being friends with God. God walks with friends and where God has friends divine activity accelerates. The secret of walking with God invloves communion with God.

‘[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]’ Philippians 3:10 AMPC

Why did Paul make his relationship with Jesus Christ his highest priority? Because Jesus Christ was the most important thing in his life.

The Lord spoke to me to a greater intimacy with Him very early in my ministry. This call has never dimmed or ceased and my daily challenge is to find the presence of God and live there. I call this my secret place.

The secret place is where I develop a walking relationship with God. The secret place is not the destination; it is only the catalyst [call to action between God and myself]. It is designed of God to establish in me an intimate friendship with Him through the course of my everyday life. The goal I am pursuing is an unbroken communion with my Lord and friend. When I enter this dimension God unfolds the secrets of his kingdom. Everything is that I might know him. This never ending passionate adventure.

We must develop a secret history with God before he gives us a public history before people.

Hidden in the secret place, we learn what he’s looking for in friends, and we find out what pleases him. Our inner being / soul becomes our training ground for a life that is rooted and grounded in holy living.
